About the Founder of Analogue Arts
Jonathan Harris has worked in and around book publishing since 1994. He was Assistant to the President at Pomegranate Communications, a leading visual arts publisher in Sonoma County California and, later, Associate Director of Sales and Marketing at Amber Lotus Publishing in San Francisco. Before that, he was the Events and Marketing director at A Clean Well Lighted Place for Books, one of the nation’s top independent bookstores.

In a previous career, Jonathan was a financial services professional at Bloomberg L.P., the firm started by the current Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg and, subsequently, served for six years as a Legislative Aide for economic policy in Washington on the staff of U.S. Senator John Kerry.

Whereas many book agents come from the editorial side of publishing, Jonathan brings proven sales and marketing experience and approaches his work primarily as a salesman. He enjoys developing, pitching and (especially) closing book deals. And while he represents mainly non-fiction authors, he is willing to consider any project which might legitimately be deemed to be of commercial value and unique in quality.
